With the overwhelming success of his ‘Losing Control’ single in 1994, Daniel set up 7th City Distribution in order to assist smaller Midwest labels to get distribution in overseas markets. He also created three new labels – 7th City, Elevate and Harmonie Park. In 2000, he relocated to Berlin, Germany, and released his first mix CD, The Button-Down Mind of Daniel Bell, on Tresor Records.

Over the past few years Jake Fairley has become recognized as a key force in the growing Canadian electronic music scene. Since June 2000, Jake has had nearly twenty releases under various names and on various labels, mostly under the Kompakt Distribution umbrella. Being from Toronto, he has developed a style which is a little harder, a little drier, and a lot dirtier than the common sound from Montreal.

From the very beginning, Jake’s music has showed a bigger focus on stretching minimal techno into the popular rather than the experimental. Spending much of his youth watching bands play live has pushed Jake to try and perform his music rather than merely present it. As of late, Jake’s music has begun to show his rock and roll roots more and more. By using distorted sounds, a steady beat, and occasionally aggressive vocals, he has been blurring the lines between techno and rock music more than ever.

The desire to make the perfect hybrid of techno and rock n’ roll is nothing new for Jake and can be found even in his earliest work. In late 2001 he had his first dance floor hit with ‘Exploder’. Named after a Toronto garage band featuring the man that got Jake hooked on electronics in the first place, the EP not only showed Jake singing for the first time, but also his growing love for distortion. By the time ‘Exploder’ was released Jake had already been testing his version of The Stooges ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ out at his live shows. It was released in spring 2002 and showed not only Jake getting more aggressive, but also using the shuffle beat for the first time since his very first 12′. By winter he had started the Joy Division-meets-minimal-techno outfit Uncut with Ian Worang. They released their first single ‘Understanding The New Violence’ on Dumb-Unit that December. Late last year Jake released ‘Octane’ on Germany’s most celebrated techno label, Kompakt. Octane was a 4/4 monster that sealed the deal for Jake being established as the ‘foundation of tech-rock’ (De-Bug Magazine).

Biography:
Started the journey in my home City Aleppo and at home with the family: My father collection of disco and pop, 70s and 80s through the ninties, after that I strated buying music tapes form different styles dominated by instrumental Jazz and new age music, I also must admit that I liked summery tunes of american deep house. At the universtity I started listening to heavy metal (influenced by Lebanease friend), I think that any music can be enjoyable if you learn how to listen and appreiciate the good sound arrangements, as well as Jazz; we had a one month of European Jazz festival and some independant location where they hosted some american-Michigan jazz aritists. The city also hosted International folk perfmances ,dances and music, in the Citadel of Aleppo (ancient Roman theatre like stage).I personally love the dubbier deeper groovier sounds.

In My garduate years in ITALY (Trieste) I enjoyed some salsa and merengue tunes (enjoyted some nice salsa on the beach) and some meldoic sexier tunes in the Italian clubs. Also some sort of international influnece were strong since I have studied at the UN programme dominated by International folks, lot of social events, priavte and on ocassions at some dedicated location in the city of Trieste, some infuences from neighbouring Slovenia and Croatia flolky music also were interesting.

One year later I was in the former eastern German City of Halle (Saale), It was not impressive apart from some good house music in the exclusive `Kleine Saal` = `Little Room` in one of the clubs that were dominated by popular nusic. The last 7-8 years in The Netherlands were dominated by dance oriented music and here where I bought my turnatables with my other two friends Tony and Hanneke ( We called ourselfs the `Trio from Rio`), we played in the south of ITALY (Syracusa) in different bars, me on the turntables, hanneke on the jambe/flute and Tony performed some capoera on the stage. After that summer, everyone went in a different direction. I kept the turntables and from there, it all went extreme, collecting Vinyl.

At the moment I am into all of these new sound arrangments from artists like Mikael Stavostrand/Jay Haze/Villalobos/losoul/Pheek/´Someone Else´ to name few, also artists on lables like Playhouse, Perlon, Tunning Spork, Circus Company, oslo and Below .

Biography:
I was born and raised in the southern parts of Stockholm and got influences of electronic dance music from an early age, back in those days I was listening to a lot of different styles of music: Hip Hop, Disco, Funk and the early sounds of Techno Pop. In the late 80’s I became quite into the sounds of House and Acid House, especially after listening a local radio show that was playing the latest dance music. I heard classic tracks like Stakkers “Humanoid” and “Can you feel it” by Mr. Fingers, it was about this time I really started collecting 12″ records.

If I should mention any artists that I have been influenced by I would say most of the legendary Detroit producers, people like Kevin Saunderson and Juan Atkins, Mr. Fingers, Robert Hood along with Europeans like Luke Slater with his fantastic Planetary Funk series on Peacefrog, Dave Clarke with the Red 1-3 Records, Maurizio’s amazing Dub Techno Grooves and of course the electronic sounds from my home country.

During the years I have been through all kinds of electronic music, and that also shows in the way that I spin. Mixing up Detroit Techno with minimal, Tech House, Acid House and other jacky electronic grooves. I try to see my sets as a musical story. I want to give the crowd music with soul, from my soul, not just playing like a machine. With many years of DJing behind me I have performed all around Sweden and other countries in Europe, like Bosnia, Denmark, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Slovenia and Spain. In 2007 I was voted by the people as one of the 5 best Electronic dance music DJ’s in Sweden.

My music productions have been released on my own label Armalyte Records (RIP) and German labels like Thomas Schumachers Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten and Holzplatten. Other labels in the list is Mutual Solid Cuts, Omegaritam and Metapath Recordings. In the year 2007 a new label is born, run together with my good friend Johan Aftreglow. The name is “Afterglow & Stork” and the sound in Techno and Electro, straight up! The label i fast rising with its name and the support comes from many big Dj’s around the world.

Biography:
One of the most interesting producers occupying the wild outer margins of dubstep, Hungary-based Ekaros was recruited on the strength of his excellent production work: tech-edged beats laced with sinister, poisonous atmospheres. His Atoms track was first dropped in a filthy squat party in east London, tearing out of the system like an angry synthetic beast, and was signed immediately after. His seething dark dub has also surfaced on labels like Dubkraft and Black Hoe.

Biography:
Chicago’s John Mork & Frankie J (aka The Sound Republic) have blown on to the international house music scene in the last 2 years with a slew of genre-pushing releases on such highly respected labels as Guesthouse Music, Tango, Lowdown, Control Recordings, Jackin’ Tracks, Dae Recordings, Blackcherry, and Guess Who? (under the alias Francis Jilla & Johnny Drama). Their signature chopped-up, quirky style of production has found its way in to the boxes of both house music aficionados and top jocks alike. Receiving heavy support from such major players in the underground house community as Swirl People’s Raoul Belmans, Mark Farina, DJ Heather, Diz, Jason Hodges, and DJ Mes to name a few, John and Frankie are not only proving to be ground-breaking producers, but also world class DJs as well. Between hosting one of Chicago’s favorite underground house nights (Grizzled, with partner in crime Karl Almaria), and an increasingly busy touring schedule, The Sound Republic is spreading the message of their fun, uncompromisingly quirky, and totally funky take on house music.

2006 expects to be another great year for The Sound Republic. Setting aside a good portion of the summer to focus on remix work and their debut full-length LP for San Francisco-based Guesthouse Music, the project will allow the lads to collaborate with a wide variety of talented musicians and to explore and push their sound to an even further, funkier plateau. In the end, it’s all about having fun and those four little letters: JACK!

Biography:
Ida has cut her teeth as a resident DJ at Stockholm‚s legendary Cocktail Club where she progressively advanced the sophisticated style of her sets. “I play deep house, tech house, funky techno, sometimes minimal and even some electro. Basically, everything that touches my soul! I’ll always keep on playing underground electronic dance music”, she confesses. Ida Engberg was born in a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. Since then she has moved around a fair bit, spending some time in Marbella as well as in Ibiza, before settling on an island called Lidingö just outside Stockholm. Eversince Ida started to select music there’s one question she gets asked time and again: “How on earth did you decide to become a DJ … being a girl and all??” Actually, Ida never really decided to become a DJ … It just happened!
“When I was 14 my first boyfriend was already DJing and I thought it was the coolest thing. He taught me to mix but it wasn’t until I was 18 that I really started to play myself.” Ida’s first gig was as much as a surprise to her as to anyone. The resident DJ at a friend’s club was sick and Ida just happened to be there that night. “On the spur of the moment I said that I could play! My friend looked at me slightly bemused and replied something like ’Yeah right’! I still can’t believe I managed to convince him to let me play that night. It was great. I loved every minute of it!”

A few weeks later Ida got asked to start playing at one of the most infamous after-hour clubs in Stockholm, The Spy Bar. That was five years ago and a lot of things have happened since. Ida has played alongside distinguished DJs like Roger Sanchez, Damian Lazarus, Jennifer Cardini, David West, John Dahlbäck, Jesper Dahlbäck, Sebastian Ingrosso, Eric Prydz, The Knife, Jo Mills, Joel Mull, Aril Brikha, Anja Schneider, Özgur Can, Steve Lawler, Nic Fanciulli, Mistress Barbara… and the list continues. “At the moment I’m resident at my favourite club in the whole world called Neu Club. It’s in the heart of Stockholm and everyone that loves great music and raving should pay a visit there!”
